Dear Family, Friends, and Kind Supporters,
Laura is a widow and very beloved in our community. Laura and her husband were pastors who ran a Christian senior home in Atascadero for 23 years. After the sudden passing of her husband, Laura has worked hard as a single mom to be wise with her funds as the only provider left for her family.
A contractor learned of Laura's position as a minister, a widow, and a single mom and sadly took advantage of her savings account, agreeing to fix her roof. The contractor within her community was highly recommended to her but left the job unfinished with her money. The contractor has quit his job, changed his number, and has a current case in court open against him.
Laura's roof is left in worse condition than it was before. Laura is out of funds to repair it which will now cost her more. In the meantime, Laura and her daughter are living in a home with a leaky, patched-up roof and mold. This is dangerous to her family's health. She has been working overtime to try and save for this emergency, but this is a big ask of a single, widowed individual.
I am reaching out with humility, asking for your help, support, and prayers during this time for Laura's family and what they have left—their home. Even a couple of dollars can add up to the cost eventually. Whatever we can give will help Laura financially recover. $8,500 will not fully repair this damage, but Laura is working incredibly hard to make up the difference on her own.
With love,
