Aid Laughing Seed Cafe's Team in Crisis

The devastation from Hurricane Helene that has hit our community is something we couldn't have imagined happening in our wildest dreams. We are all heart broken in Appalachia. The Laughing Seed Cafe opened 33 years ago in Asheville, one of the OG businesses (as they say), we've seen Asheville go through many changes but no one saw this one coming. We have a long road of recovery ahead of us.
Our community is strong and we love it and will support it in anyway we can as we help each other and those far less fortunate than us. Our building is fine, our staff is all fine and we are luckier than many. However our city suffered major damage to the water lines and we don't have a timeline as to when repairs will be done, which means are doors will be closed for the foreseeable future. I'm sure you can imagine the financial obstacles this presents. We love our staff and we've been feeding them and giving them any supplies we have on hand for the past week but they will need financial help and more than what a small business like ours can offer, since most of our resources have already been expended on financial obligations that we're accrued before Helene. Many of them have been volunteering for days, helping the community, using personal funds to buy supplies, do wellness checks, etc. If you love the Laughing Seed Cafe and have a little to spare all proceeds will be tremendously helpful for the Laughing Seed team as we get through this.
We love you. We can't wait to serve you again, one day.
