My name is Latikqua P. (TEKA) and I didn’t want to do this, but it’s been a long 2 months of pain and I just cannot endure it any longer by myself. I had surgery on July 8 out of the country and everything was OK at first, but everything that the doctor stitched on me started coming loose. I then started reaching out to different doctors in my city to help me, but no one would help me due to me going out of the country. I started spending different money trying to get the best proper care because I knew that my body was under pressure. My three daughters and I did the best we could to help me heal, but I started noticing that it still wasn’t healing and my body was not closing. All I could do was cover it over with gauze and wound care. The weight of the pain started to be too much for my daughters, so I knew I needed more help. I heard from someone that I needed to go to Baylor Dallas, so I came here for the proper care because I could no longer get turned around. My body was in severe pain. I could not move. I have been laying on my stomach for almost 2 months at this time. I could not even properly shower, feed myself, or clean myself after so long from dealing with the pain. I did reach out to the doctor and he wanted me to come back so he could just stitch it, not understanding that my body had inside infections at the time. When I got to Baylor, they informed me of everything that was going on. I didn’t even know it was this serious until I got here and saw that I had so many doctors under my care. I had to leave my daughters back in the city to come here because this is the only hospital that would take me and help me. I’m over $20,000 in expenses, just trying to stay alive from which the infection started to get to my lungs and that was the problem that I was having. My butt was hurt and in so much pain. I’ve never gone through this before, so I never prepared for this. I’ve always worked and took care of my daughters and anyone that knows me knows this. I literally had to put my pride to the side this time and reach out to God first, but I need help. The medical expenses are taking me down. I have to now find home healthcare and nurses to take care of me to get me back properly so I can start trying to do the normal day-to-day things, and all of this is from the surgery gone wrong. I have now heard that other women have been infected from this particular doctor, but my interest is not in bashing him. My interest is in getting my life back on track because I have three daughters that need me. They are home waiting on me to get back. I am a single mother. Anything will help me at this time of need. I have been through two surgeries in four days and they have to watch me because the infection can always come back. I posted the images not for a pity party, but to show you that this is real and I am a real person and if I said that this is happening, this is definitely happening. Anything that you help me with is a blessing to me and my daughters because I do have a life and my responsibility is to them.
