Long-time devotee and our dear friend, Ladali dasi, has served Srila Prabhupada's mission for most of her adult life. Sadly, this big-hearted Vaisnavai has recently been diagnosed with aggressive, Stage 4 uterine cancer, and needs our help.
In 2024, Ladali was diagnosed with uterine cancer, and after a recommended surgery, the cancer went into remission. Last November, Ladali was again struck with debilitating pain and was rushed to the hospital in San Diego.
After a CT Scan, the Oncologist found that the cancer had metastasized to her liver and lungs, and informed her that the Stage 4 cancer is highly aggressive and untreatable by allopathic medicine. He suggested Chemotherapy as a possibility to extend her life. After some contemplation, Ladali decided not to hinder her immune system and quality of life with Chemotherapy.
Ladali began experiencing increasingly severe pain, insomnia, depression, depleted energy, discomfort, loss of appetite, rapid weight loss, and brain fog, among other symptoms.
Naturally, Ladali, her husband, Mahabharata dasa, daughter, Radha Bhakti, and her many friends were devastated by the news and frantically researched alternative treatments, praying to find some relief for Ladali's painful condition.
By Krishna's grace, they discovered a widely used treatment protocol from Europe that has had encouraging results in alleviating Stage 4 cancer. The protocol uses compounded allopathic and natural medicines, meticulously formulated based on a personalized workup of the patient's stats, such as age, weight, stage of the cancer, vital signs, and many more.
A reputable doctor in the United States who uses the protocol and compounds the medicine was located. Ladali began the protocol in January and immediately felt some relief, experiencing less pain, a surge of energy, her depression subsided, her sleep improved, and her appetite increased.
The medicine has made her life increasingly more manageable, but it is very expensive. Ladali and Mahabharata's savings have depleted. Other family members have helped considerably, but that funding is now not sustainable. Ladali needs our help to continue her healing journey.
To complete a six-month treatment round, including the purchase of supplements to support the compounded medicines, $15,000 is urgently needed. Without these funds, the pain will again become unbearable, and her healing will cease.

About Ladali: Ladali first encountered the devotees when she was 9 years old in 1969, near Balboa Park in San Diego. She became a full-time devotee in 1986, moving into the San Diego Temple. She has been serving Sri Sri Radha Giridhari and the New Govardhana community ever since.
Ladali was a dedicated distributor of Srila Prabhupada's books for many years under Mother Sandamani's guidance. Ladali Dasi is also an expert baker and, no doubt, one of the top-tier bakers in ISKCON. She has steadily baked for numerous appearance-day festivals over the years, and for various Vaisnava weddings and birthday celebrations. Anyone who has tasted her ambrosial cake prasadam never forgets the experience. His Holiness Gunagrahi Goswami was, and is, extremely fond of Mahabharata and Ladali, and almost always lived at their home when visiting San Diego. One would be hard-pressed to find any period when this inspiring family was not opening its doors to visiting Vaisnavas. They embody Vaisnava seva, having provided long-term living space for elevated souls like Maha Hari and family, Markandeya Dasa and family, Vaikuntha and Jahnavi, and innumerable others. Mahabharata and Ladali are famous for their huge Christmas festival, feast, and kirtan held at their home almost every holiday season, inviting the entire community. Throughout the decades, they have facilitated numerous home programs to enable visiting sadhus to speak and share their bhakti with the congregation, including Hridayananda Goswami, Radhanath Swami, Devamrita Swami, Vaisesika Dasa, and many others. Ladali has also helped organize and decorate many festivals at the Temple throughout the decades. Always eager to serve Vaisnavas in need, Ladali assisted so many, including Mother Vraja Vadhu in her final years, Yamini, Catura (after Rajendrananda's passing), and Govinda Dasi (Tamal Krishna Mahharaja's disciple). This is the short list of the loving care Ladali has shown so many.
Please take this opportunity to help this wonderful Vaisnavi who has served Srila Prabhupada and cared for and served so many of his dear followers. Serving the dedicated Vaisnavas is the most pleasing to Srimati Radharani.
