My name is Tara Daniel. I am a long-time friend of the Durham family and have known all of the kids since they were babies. Brittany was my college roommate and is a close friend.

Kylee Durham, who is Brittany and Scott's middle child, has been on a rough road health-wise in the last year. Kylee recently graduated from high school and had a second round of Chiari 1 Malformation surgeries at the end of June.

Kylee has Chiari 1 Malformation with Severe Syringomyelia.

Chiari Type I:

The cerebellar tonsils (the lower part of the cerebellum) extend down into the spinal canal. This is the most common type and can cause headaches, neck pain, and other neurological issues.

Last summer, Kylee had 3 surgeries: decompression and dura plasty, washout and repair, and then lumbar drain.

This summer, she has had 2 surgeries so far: revision decompression and dura plasty, and then washout, repair, and intracranial drain.

Coming from someone who lived in a hospital with one of our children for almost 4 months, I know how important it is to feel supported during this trauma. If you could spare the money you would spend on a treat or something extra, I know the Durham family would greatly appreciate your gift.

I am looking to reduce financial stress and burden for the Durham's from surgeries and daily hospital medical costs, raise funds toward their hotel room expenses, and for meals while still away in the hospital with Kylee.
