Aid Kurt's Healing from ICU to Recovery

Donation protected
Dear Friends, Family and to our Internet Marketing Community,

With his family's permission, I am starting this gofundme to support a dear friend and client of almost 20 years, Kurt Artecona, as he continues to fight for his life. Many of you in our internet marketing world already know him or may have crossed paths with him as he is a veteran in our space. Those of us that are lucky to know him can all agree on one thing - Kurt is one of the kindest people you've ever met. He wears his heart on his sleeve and has a desire to help everyone no matter who they are. When I visited his office many years ago, I distinctly remember how highly he spoke about his call center team. He said these were people he was so proud of, how ambitious they are, and had a personal story to share about each of them. That's just the type of person Kurt is - he cares deeply about everyone. He has recently experienced a very serious medical emergency and has been in the hospital for over a month. It's been a very tough period for his family with not knowing if he would even make it at all, as at one point he even flatlined. He was in a medically induced coma for weeks. Thankfully he is now slowly showing some signs of improvement but is still not out of the woods and recovery will be a very long process. I invite our community to join me in supporting one of our own. Thank you in advance for taking the time to read his family's stories below. All donations will go directly to Kurt's bank account.

Letter from Kurt's wife, Chrissy and their sons, Alex and Sam:

Dear Friends and family, Thank you for taking your time to read our story. This year has brought unexpected challenges, and we are reaching out to our community for help and support during this difficult time.
In January, while battling pneumonia, Kurt became unresponsive. Our son, Alex, quickly recognized the severity of the situation and called 911 for help. We later learned that Kurt was in diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) and experiencing organ failure. On the way to the hospital, he completely shut down and stopped breathing. Between Alex’s quick assessment and the paramedics’ swift action, and a little help from God Kurt’s life was saved.
Kurt was placed on a ventilator for nine days. This gave his body and his doctors the critical time needed to fight for his life. After a month in the hospital, and several two steps forward and one step back moments Kurt has graduated from ICU care to ICMU. Where they can now shift the focus more on the long and difficult road to recovery. Kurt is a fighter, and the strongest man we know, but he will need time to heal before returning to work and the daily stressors that contributed to this crisis.
Kurt is still battling with bacterial pneumonia, kidney failure, and general weakness. All while still bedbound and learning to live with diabetes and dialysis. We are asking for support to help cover Kurt’s living expenses and medical costs so he can focus fully on his recovery without financial pressure. Every dollar raised will go directly to him, giving him the time and resources he needs to regain his strength.
Kurt has always drawn so much of his strength from his friendships and his community. If you know him, you know that once you’re in his life, your family. Even now, his biggest concern isn’t himself, it’s how everyone else is doing. To keep his spirits high, we are also collecting letters of encouragement, updates, and well wishes to remind him how loved and supported he is.
If you are able, any donation—big or small—will make a difference. If you can’t donate, sharing this fundraiser and sending words of encouragement are just as valuable. Your kindness, generosity, and love mean the world to Kurt and to our family.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your kindness, generosity and support. Please know that every donation, share, and message of encouragement means the world to us and makes a difference in Kurt’s recovery, giving him the strength to keep fighting
With gratitude,
Chrissy, Alex, & Sam Artecona

Letter from his sister, Jacqueline:

Hello everyone. My brother Kurt has been fighting for his life for over a month. He flat lined in the ambulance on the way to the hospital and was thankfully revived. He’s endured so much since then including being placed on a ventilator, receiving numerous dialysis treatments, having a catheter placed in his neck and then in his chest (very uncomfortable and painful), having surgeries to remove fluid from around his lungs, and almost losing his life once again requiring him to have an emergency blood transfusion in order to survive. Needles to say he’s scared and in pain and has a long road of recovery ahead before he’s able to walk and resume his regular every day life activities. His mind and body sadly are not able to handle going back to work for quite some time as his battle isn’t over for the foreseeable future.
We are so grateful he is alive. It truly feels like a miracle that he is still with us. My brother is the rock of our family. He is the most generous kind hearted man who would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need.
If you’re able to donate, it would mean the world to us.
We want him to be able to focus on getting better and not have to stress over financial burdens until his body and mind are strong enough to handle it.
Thank you for all the prayers, love and support. It means the world to my brother and to our family.

Jacqueline Artecona

Letter from Kurt's sister, Wendy:

Kurt is an amazing brother and is also one of my best friends. He is one of the kindest people you could ever meet and to see him struggling and in pain is devastating. We appreciate your prayers, love and support to help him put all of his energy into his recovery.
