hi everyone, i’m Kolbe and for the first time in my 30 years of life i am attempting to become independent. but i need a lot of help, and every little bit of it will go such a long way. i’m also aiming to have my friend Alex relocate from California to live with me.

why stay in Maryland?

the past several years of my life have consisted of moving from state to state. as someone that relies on state medicaid (i have to reapply + wait potential months) for insurance it is unideal for me to continue this despite the options i have elsewhere. maryland is one of the very few trans sanctuary states as well.

why not live with family?

long story short, i have ptsd and a large part of it is rooted in them. while i managed to live briefly with them recently, my brother lives there again now and it would be a dynamic we all haven’t experienced in over a decade, and may very well push me to extreme levels of unhealthiness. plus i don’t even know if they would let me keep my ferrets, my emotional support animals.

why Alex?

he’s also trying to become independent and escape an aggressively abusive household.

other options

if i cannot manage things here, the funds will go to my other options, which sadly are to move to another state.

i’ll be adding more information outlining timeline/plan, i just needed to get this out asap.
