Hello, my name is Thakeshea, but I go by Keshea.

At the end of April, I was diagnosed with a brain tumor called meningioma. Although it isn’t cancerous, it grows aggressively and has already affected my vision, memory, and causes severe migraines that keep me down most of the day. Because of this, I haven’t been able to work since my diagnosis.

On October 2nd, I had brain surgery, and I spent almost a week in the hospital. The surgeons were unable to remove all of the tumor because it had wrapped around major arteries and veins. Trying to remove it completely could have caused a stroke or even been life-threatening.

Now, I must undergo 14–28 rounds of radiation to shrink the tumor or prevent it from growing any further. I had hoped the surgery would improve my symptoms, but my vision has gotten worse, and I still have persistent headaches.

All of my treatment is in Houston, which is four hours away from where I live. I have a 7-year-old child that I’ve had to leave with family while I travel back and forth for appointments, surgery follow-ups, and now radiation.

Being unable to work, plus the travel, lodging, medical costs, and caring for my child during all of this, has created a financial burden that I can no longer manage alone.

I’m humbly asking for support during this difficult time. Any amount—no matter how small—will help with medical bills, transportation, lodging, and basic expenses while I undergo treatment.

Thank you for reading my story and for any support, prayers, or shares. It truly means the world to me and my family.
