Aid Ken and Family's Road to Recovery After Crash

Donation protected
On December 14th, 2024 Ken Howard experienced a medical emergency while behind the wheel of his car. He had been sick with a horrible chest cold for a few days and thought he was feeling better. He drove to the bank, withdrew some cash and got back into his car. He put his car in Drive and started to fasten his seatbelt when he began to cough. He coughed so hard that he lost consciousness and his foot hit the accelerator. Off he went! Full speed ahead in a large strip mall complex, with pedestrians and lots of cars. He hit two cars, jumped the median and then hit three more cars before his own car, which was totally demolished, finally came to a stop.
Ken was transported to the hospital with facial, neck, and rib injuries. Overall he's pretty banged up, but very lucky to be alive. And the miracle is: NO ONE else was injured!
Witnesses told police that they knew Ken was having a medical emergency because he was slumped over the steering wheel and the car was completely out of control.
When the police came to the hospital to talk to him, Ken quietly said, "I've been waiting for you." And then as the tears rolled down his eyes he asked the police officer "Was anybody else injured or killed?" The officer responded "No Ken, no one was injured but you."
Ken will recover from his injuries but he and his family are now facing a huge financial burden. They do have health insurance and car insurance but like most families they are just meeting their monthly budget with not a lot of spare. They expect to have a large healthcare deductibles, large out-of-pocket expenses and copays. Their car insurance premium will go up once the claim is processed to cover all the cars that were demolished and damaged in this accident. And hopefully, the damages will not exceed the maximum payouts. Ken will need time to recover which means no income for an indefinite amount of time. And lastly, his 2006 Toyota Yaris, which is totally demolished, will need to be replaced so that he can go back to work.
If you know our family at all, you know we are givers not takers. It is hard for Ken and Brittany to ask for your financial assistance, so I am asking for them. Whatever you can donate is so greatly appreciated. Every penny will lessen the financial burden on Ken and Brittany and for their two children Vincent and Lydia.
Thank you in advance for your generosity, love and support. We are truly grateful.
