At this time I would like to ask for your help and prayers for my grandparents in Roswell, New Mexico. Friday night record breaking rainfall stranded my grandparents, 2 dogs, 2 birds in their home, while their horse Doc was able to escape due to the fences collapsing. With no time to prepare for this they were trapped by the water since the current was so strong they couldn't open the doors, water went over their waist, and thankfully after some time the National Guard soon rescued them. They were 2 of the 309 people were rescued and I thank God for being with them and getting them out safely. My grandparents are the strongest people I know and as much as they will like to take this on themselves, they need help with everything that got ruined, lost and still trying to salvage. The good news is that Doc is alive and a kind samaritan took him in their care after he was found in loose a mile away from their home. My mom took the soonest flight to go out and help and is now with them in a hotel with their 2 dogs. She brought them clothes and food for the dogs.

We would be extremely grateful for any amount anyone is willing to contribute to help cover the expenses as well as replacing their lost items. With no flood insurance you can probably imagine the cost of replacing everything, no amount is too small. If you are unable to help please share this on social media to help spread this and may you please pray for strength so they can endure this horrific time.

On my to college my mom and I made a stop for a few days to Roswell to visit my grandparents. I took plenty of pictures each trip and I share with you the before and after. Their home was filled with love, memories, comfort, and everything they own. Pictures everywhere and decorations filled the place, it breaks my heart that now the place I love to visit and their home is ruined now. Never would I have thought that this would happen but as much as I call and tell my grandma that I am so sorry about everything that has happened, she reminds me that she is just thankful to be alive.

En este momento me gustaría pedirles su ayuda y oraciones por mis abuelos en Roswell, Nuevo México. El viernes por la noche, una lluvia récord dejó varados a mis abuelos, 2 perros y 2 pájaros en su casa, mientras que su caballo, Doc, pudo escapar debido a que las cercas se derrumbaron y se las llevó el agua. Sin tiempo para prepararse para esto, quedaron atrapados por el agua ya que la corriente era tan fuerte que no podían abrir las puertas, el agua les llegaba hasta la cintura y, afortunadamente, después de un tiempo, la Guardia Nacional los rescató. Eran 2 de las 309 personas que fueron rescatadas y le agradezco a Dios por estar con ellos y sacarlos de allí sanos y salvos. Mis abuelos son las personas más fuertes que conozco y, por mucho que quieran encargarse de esto, necesitan ayuda con todo lo que se arruinó, se perdió y aún están tratando de salvar. La buena noticia es que Doc está vivo y un amable samaritano lo tomó bajo su cuidado después de que lo encontraron suelto a una milla de su casa. Mi madre tomó el primer vuelo para ir a ayudar y ahora está con ellos en un hotel con sus dos perros. Les trajo ropa y comida para los perros. Estaríamos sumamente agradecidos por cualquier cantidad que alguien esté dispuesto a contribuir para ayudar a cubrir los gastos, así como para reemplazar sus objetos perdidos. Sin seguro contra inundaciones, probablemente puedas imaginar el costo de reemplazar todo, ninguna cantidad es demasiado pequeña. Si no puedes ayudar, comparte esto en las redes sociales para ayudar a difundirlo y reza por fortaleza para que puedan soportar este momento horrible.

En mi camino a la universidad, mi madre y yo hicimos una parada de unos días en Roswell para visitar a mis abuelos. Tomé muchas fotografías en cada viaje y comparto contigo el antes y el después. Su casa estaba llena de amor, recuerdos, comodidad y todo lo que tenían. Fotos por todos lados y decoraciones llenaban el lugar, me rompe el corazón que ahora el lugar que amo visitar y su casa estén arruinados. Nunca hubiera pensado que esto sucedería, pero por más que llamo a mi abuela y le digo que lo siento mucho por todo, ella me recuerda que está agradecida de estar viva.
