Dear Friends, Family, and Kind-Hearted Supporters,
On Halloween night, my dear friend's 15-year-old daughter, Kayla, was struck by a car in a terrifying accident that nearly took her life. Through incredible resilience, Kayla pulled through and is now in stable condition. But the injuries she sustained are severe, and she faces a long, painful road to recovery.
A Brave Fighter with a Gentle Heart
Kayla is not only a bright and beautiful young girl but also a dedicated student who excels in her classes and is active in her school choir. She’s known for her sweet nature, quick wit, humor, and gentle smile, which now bears the marks of this traumatic accident. With a fractured nose, broken collarbone, a collapsed and bruised lung, and a lacerated lung, liver, and spleen, as well as extensive cuts and road rash on her face, Kayla will need significant care to heal—both physically and emotionally.
A Mother’s Love and a Family in Need
Erin, Kayla's mother, is one of the most loving and devoted parents I’ve known. She has worked tirelessly to provide for her and her daughter, but with this sudden tragedy, Erin now finds herself placed with an enormous financial strain. Erin needs to pay for things that will exceed her current budget like gas for trips to and from the hospital and future therapy treatments, meals...and the overwhelming medical costs are already mounting, and Erin needs our help.

- Medical expenses for the surgeries and extended care that Kayla will need
- Day-to-day costs like gas and meals while Erin spends her days at the hospital
- Essential family expenses during Erin’s time away from work where she will have to take unpaid leave
