As exciting as the arrival of their new bundle of joy has been, it hasn't been without complications and more than a few bumps in the road. Katy has been in the ICU since delivery (going on more than a week now) due to complications from gestational hypertension which has lead to a high level of medical intervention due to the trauma she experienced during the delivery process. She has been intubated to protect her airways and is making slow and steady progress. The loss of blood and dangerously high blood pressure caused swelling in her brain. While Katy continues to take steps forward, the family has a long road ahead of them to get her to be 100% back on her feet.

These unexpected circumstances have led us to ask for financial support on behalf of the family to help ease the stress of not only major medical expenses, but loss of income for Katy, Fredo and their beautiful baby. This way they can concentrate on what matters most--healing and recovery. The good news is the baby is healthy, and any financial contributions will support their family on the long road of healing ahead.
