Help Kathy and Dave

My sister and her husband planned and saved for a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Alaska. After only 2 days there, their dream trip turned into a nightmare when Dave took a massive stroke and was airlifted to Anchorage for emergency surgery. The stroke has left Dave with slurred speech, difficulty swallowing, and weakness in his side. Two weeks later, Dave remains hospitalized in Alaska, waiting on therapy to help him regain some semblance of his former life. Kathy remains at his side, caring for him, all the while their bills are mounting. Kathy is paying for a place to stay so she can be near Dave, cafeteria meals since she has no transportation to a grocery store, indefinite dog and cat sitters, and daily airport fees where their car is parked. Now, the insurance has told her that Dave is in a hospital that is out of network, so they will be facing astronomical medical bills. All of this is completely out of their control, as the doctor is saying it is not yet safe for Dave to travel home.
