Aid Kathryn's Fight Against Endometrial Cancer
Donation protected
TLDR
3 weeks ago Kathryn was diagnosed with early stages of endometrial cancer. She requires an immediate hysterectomy and this will be her 4th surgery in 10 months. With each surgery there have been weeks of recovery and additional costs. Along with medical bills there have been expenses to cover airfare, travel, hospital stays, lodgings, supplies for recovery, and childcare support etc. Her most recent surgery was completely out of pocket and the medical expenses exceeded $20k. For two other surgeries, insurance claims are being denied even though the Millers sought and received pre-approval. While the Millers are contesting it, we want to show up for them in a tangible way and this Go Fund Me is our way to do just that. As a community, we’re raising money for Kathryn and Drew to cover surgery care for Kathryn — before, during, and after — as well as the additional expenses that come with having a parent fully focused on the intense work of healing and recovery. To ensure Kathryn & Drew have space and time to process this diagnosis and prepare for surgery + a long recovery ahead, please reach out to me (Kelsey) with any questions/texts/well wishes as I will compile them and send them along. I will also be posting updates on this page regularly.
MORE BACKGROUND
To know the Miller family is to love them. As most of you know, they have faced an exceptionally hard couple of years - from Kathryn’s Lyme diagnosis, to having to get rid of all of their stuff and relocate due to mold toxicity, to the 3 surgeries Kathryn has had in 9 months - all while raising and caring for two incredible kiddos and two pups. Last month, Kathryn & Drew traveled to New York for another surgery that revealed abnormal findings in pathology and led to a diagnosis of endometrial cancer in the early stages. She requires an immediate hysterectomy and this will be her 4th surgery in 10 months.
This coming Monday, July 29th, Kathryn will have that surgery to remove her uterus and (hopefully) all of the cancer. This is the best course of action for her to keep the cancer from spreading and ensure her health in the end. The recovery from this surgery will be long and arduous and was clearly not the way they wanted to end the summer.
Needless to say, the past 3 weeks have been overwhelming and heavy while they figure out treatment and how to care for themselves and their family. Further, getting the medical help they need has also been a financial strain. The cost and care surrounding the surgeries have been extensive. Along with medical bills, they have had to cover costs for airfare, travel, hospital stays, lodgings, supplies for recovery, and childcare support etc. Her most recent surgery was completely out of pocket and the medical expenses exceeded $20k. For two other surgeries, insurance claims are being denied even though the Millers sought and received pre-approval. While the Millers are contesting it, we want to show up for them in a tangible way and this Go Fund Me is our way to do that.

We love the Miller family and supporting them financially is a very tangible way to show it. Thank you so much in advance for caring, loving, and supporting the Miller Family.
