Aid Kathleen and Her Girls in Overcoming Fire Tragedy
Donation protected
My name is Brandy and I started this GoFundMe for a young mother that I have known for over 10 years. Kathleen has fought against many adversities and she's always gotten back on her feet to keep fighting through them for her two young daughters, Eisley and Margot. She has had yet another setback and I want to ask the community to help me get her through this pretty significant event.
Kathleen and her girls were sleeping when their home caught fire. She is still in disbelief, but also very grateful that they were woken up just in time to get out of the house. Kathleen remembered her daughter Eisley waking her up to tell her the house was on fire; however, Eisley only remembers her Mom waking her up and getting her and her sister out of the house. I believe that God had his hand on Kathleen and her daughters that night and woke them up just in time to escape.
Unfortunately, Kathleen was renting this home - she has been in it for a couple of years; however, she doesn't have renters' insurance. She is required to pay for the damages to the home, but she is also going to have to pay to have the home thoroughly cleaned before the repairs can be made because of the amount of smoke and soot that moved throughout the home.
Eisley just celebrated a birthday in May, and most - if not all, of their toys have to be thrown away because after washing them, they were unable to be restored. In addition to their toys, they had to throw away mattresses, rugs, pillows, bedding and everything else that absorbed the soot/smoke from the fire.
An estimate was given for the cost of the cleaning of the home and that is what this GoFundMe is going to help cover -- right now, Kathleen and her girls are displaced because they're unable to live in the home due to the smoke and the damage. Kathleen just started working as a para/substitute and she does not make enough to be able to replace their belongings, pay for repairs and the cleaning of the home as well as continue to pay rent while they're displaced.
Eisley and Margot are the most amazing, resilient little girls I have ever met. They are both so creative and unique - and their smiles are enough to make anyone's hearts melt. Throughout this unfortunate event in their life, they have shown just how special they are. With school just starting, they need to get back to their normal routine as soon as possible. This rental home has been their stability for a couple of years now and they need to be back home. We all know that education is very important, but we also know what it's like to try to go to school and concentrate when you have other things going on at home that are out of the normal - such as your house catching fire.
If you could please help me, help Kathleen and her girls get back into their home - it would mean so much. I usually don't do these GoFundMe accounts, but Kathleen has worked so hard to get to this point in her life and she deserves a break and a reason to keep fighting forward.
If you cannot help financially, please share and keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
