Aid Katherine's Family: Stroke Recovery & Stability

My name is Katherine. I’m asking for help because I don’t know where else to turn. My fiancé had a stroke on 10/25, and is currently in rehab for physical and occupational therapy. We’re not sure how long he will be in there and out of work.

We have been living in a motel for the past 9 months and have to pay $483 rent weekly. My son and I have been working, but our hours have been cut and we don’t have enough to pay for our room or even buy food. We have applied for my fiancé's disability, but it will be a few weeks until it starts, pending approval. I was able to pick up a few extra shifts last week and this week, but we won’t be able to pay this week.

We have not been able to save anything to try to get into our own place, and now we will have medical bills on top of this. Please help, anything will be appreciated. Even if you can only donate $5, $25, or $100 would be a big help. It would give enough to get gas or even a meal for a few days. We only have a microwave and a small fridge in our room to keep food and cook. So we can’t get a lot at once. $25 helps get medication that Lou and I both need as well. I just picked up Lou’s medicine so he will be able to come home and had to pay $128 for it. So this will be another week I can’t pay my room rent.
