Hey Everyone!!! My name is Wendy and I am looking for donations on behalf of my sister Kate Hughlett and her husband Frankie. Kate and Frankie were victims of the devastating flooding that occurred on Aug 9, 2025, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Kate woke up early Saturday morning to the sound of gushing water. She put her foot on the floor to find water up to the middle of her calf. Then the nightmare began. They do not have a basement; the house is on a slab, so their entire house was taking on water. The water coming in was contaminated with sewer water. All of the sewer lines in her area were spilling out sewage onto the roads.

Kate and Frankie were not insured. What I am finding out is that if they had renters insurance, it still would not have been covered because they didn't have flood insurance. Lesson learned on that one!!

They are having to throw out just about all the furniture because of the sewer. They were able to salvage a loveseat that they are sleeping on in the living room. They lost all of their photo albums, all of her equipment, and other items for her home business in the second bedroom that was used as a storage area.

They are slowly starting to go through things. I asked her this morning about possibly making a list of what they needed, and her response was, "EVERYTHING." I just think she's too overwhelmed right now.

People have been asking how they can help, so her daughter Dejani and I felt this was the best way to streamline it. All donations will go to Katie and Frankie directly, and they will use it as they see fit.

Those of you who know Kate and Frankie personally know that she would give her last dollar if someone needed it. She never asks for help, but this one time they need our help!!
