To Karina's Village,
This post is not the kind anyone looks forward to reading or sharing for their loved ones and I am immensely sad to say this time has regretfully come way too soon for us all; this is the best way we can think of to provide updates to everyone whom has reached out to share their love, condolences and offers of support for the family- but most importantly Karina's two little girls, Kendall Mae(13) and Kaedyn Elizabeth(10).
We see you, we hear you and i can not thank you enough. Every little bit helps more than you know.
On January 9th,2025 these two sweet girls tragically lost their mom to a very unexpected and catastrophic brain injury at the age of 33, after seeking weeks of medical care and the recent loss of our grandfather. There are no words to describe how difficult and challenging it is to understand the "hows" and "whys" of this situation ( for a family already mourning) as an adult, let alone as a young child and figuring out what those next steps should be in their best intrest.
At this time both girls are in my care (Kayla, Karina's younger sister) and I will assume full time care of both my nieces for my sister from here on along with my own two little ones.
This transition is going to be a long, difficult journey to iron out the details that come with grieving a significant loss in our family and defining a new unimaginable normal. We do not have all the answers, but the biggest need to address currently is the financial strain the loss of Karina also brings. At this time we have decided to make the move to keep the girls with their community, in their schools and at their home where they are most comfortable. Money is not an easy thing to ask for by any means, but please know we are grateful to you for whatever you may be able to give in sharing that burden with us.
Any accumulated funds (via this fundraising or other private donation) will be dispersed in efforts to directly benefit providing the most supportive and loving environment possible for both girls; in handling matters of Karina's estate, assuming regular care for both girls, their home, accommodating Kaedyn's daily medical care and all other needs/responsibilities, especially while legal affairs and insurance concerns changeover.
Services and celebration of life information will be updated shortly.
