Aid Kanon's Fight: Travel and Care Costs

Hello Family & Friends.

We cant believe we're writing this, but......as most of you know, Kanon was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma in his lower right femur. A tumor in and outside of the bone was discovered. It is malignant and needs immediate treatment. Thank God there was no spreading anywhere else in the body. He will undergo chemotherapy for 10 weeks, then a 2 week break for surgery, and then 17 more weeks of chemotherapy. Though we are glad there is no spreading and there is a plan for removal, we are devastated and saddened that our sweet and joyful Kanon has to go through this heavy and painful journey. We are going to do all we can to make this comfortable for him, and keep him distracted with games, toys, etc. Please pray that God reduces the amount of sickness/nausea/side-effects as much as possible.

Many people have asked and offered how they can help during this heavy time. Thankfully, it seems Kanon's medical coverage will cover much of the medical/hospital bills. Thank you Lord! However, for those offering support in addition to their prayers, we set this page up where people can support the ongoing expenses. We have to travel to downtown Chicago for every single visit during these 29 weeks, and some will include hotel stays. Obviously this includes overnights, gas, tolls, food, dog-sitter, missing work for Alicia, etc. If you feel moved to help in any way, we felt this was a simple and straight-forward way to do that. We still would appreciate everyone's continued prayers and spreading the prayer requests.
