Hello,

My name is Regina and I would like to tell you about my precious friend Kalinda Berry. She has been battling cancer; in fact this is her second battle with this terrible disease. She was able to overcome it with surgery and radiation a few years ago but now it’s come back with a vengeance. They found a mass in her stomach and in her lungs. She has had a few rounds of chemotherapy. But has had to stop treatment due to some blockages in her heart. She had to have emergency surgery to have some stints put in which basically saved her life. She has also had some infection that required a hospital stay with an IV and strong antibiotics. And she has also been hospitalized a couple of times for dehydration. Needless to say, she has been very sick. She has been a dear friend of mine for nearly twenty years. We met one night at a Bible study. And became close friends and even more like family over the years. We have went to church together and she was there for me when I went through a very rough time. She is not only a dear friend but a beloved sister in Christ. She truly loves the Lord. In college she did mission work in China. And later became a Social Worker and now she is currently an elementary school teacher. She has been teaching for nearly twenty years and truly loves her kids. She has also served in the church helping with both mens and womens recovery programs. And has a heart for those with addiction. She is a very beloved and devoted wife even though her husband has had battles with addiction. And I know from personal experience, that that is a very tough road all by itself. She is also the stepmother to four young women who completely adore her and the grandmother to sixteen kids. She has been the biggest blessing to all these kids who call her “Birdie”. Whether it is taking them to Sonic for ice cream, helping them with school work and projects or supporting their sports activities or show choir performances. To know her is to love her! She is a very selfless person and a true servant and follower of Jesus Christ. She loves the Lord so very much and she exudes that through her work, and her relationships with her family and her friends. She is truly one of the strongest women that I know…….overcoming some very tough battles. But she continues to fight the good fight of faith. Believing that the Lord will completely heal her. Because He has already one the victory for us. But right now she needs our help with finances. She has had to miss a lot of work and she has already used all of her days off and now could possibly loose her health insurance. And the medical bills are piling up. So, I’m asking you to please consider donating to help Kalinda in this battle. Any amount would be greatly appreciated.
