On Thursday, 8/17, Kade was in a motorcycle accident. A deer ran out in front of him on a dark country road not even a mile away from home. Kade was taken by ambulance to Franciscan Crown Point to be met with a helicopter. He was then airlifted to Advocate Christ Hospital. He had to be sedated and put on a vent due to the severity of his condition. By the grace of God, nothing was broken; however, Kade did suffer a brain bleed and a temporal orbital fracture, which is causing spinal fluid to leak in his ear.
Kade has had tremendous improvement; however, this will be a long road to recovery. He is unable to stay awake and talk longer than a few minutes at a time. He is still very confused and has a hard time communicating. At this time, his medical team has opted out of operating for the bleed. There is hope that it will absorb on its own while being closely monitored.
Kade is a hard-working father of two and a husband who is the main provider for their household. This man is the first to jump when someone needs help—he is the type that will give you the shirt off his back. He is such a wonderful and kind soul. We are uncertain how long this road to recovery will be and how long he will not be able to work. Bills are going to start piling up, as are the medical bills and the expenses for his family to commute back and forth. I am creating this campaign in hopes that it will be able to help lessen the financial burden this accident brings. This family greatly appreciates any help they can receive.
Please keep this family in your thoughts and prayers while they’re on this journey.
