Hi, my name is Daphne, and I’m fundraising on behalf of my cousin, Justice Thornton, who was recently involved in a devastating car accident that has left her with a severe spinal cord and neck injury. At this time, doctors believe she may be paralyzed from the neck down.
This unimaginable tragedy has turned her life—and the lives of those who love her—completely upside down. Justice is a devoted mother to a beautiful 2-year-old child who now faces life with a mom who may never walk or hold them again. Her recovery will be long, uncertain, and extremely challenging.
She is currently hospitalized and is expected to be transferred to a specialized rehabilitation center, possibly out of state. Her family is preparing for the possibility of relocating to be near her during this critical time so she won’t have to face this journey alone.
We are raising funds to help cover:
• Travel and relocation expenses for her immediate family
• Temporary housing near the rehab center
• Childcare and support for her 2-year-old
• Medical bills not covered by insurance
• Long-term care needs and accessibility modifications
No one should have to face something like this alone. Whether you can give $5 or $500, every bit helps. If you aren’t in a position to donate, please consider sharing this campaign.
We are holding onto hope, surrounding her with love, and doing everything we can to prepare for the road ahead. Thank you for your support, your prayers, and your kindness.
With gratitude,
Daphne
UPDATE AS OF 08/05/2025
Justice is able to move her arms but is still having difficulty with her hands. No movement in her legs as of yet, but does have some feeling in her legs, just no movement. She is able to eat and has been moved to the step under ICU. They are still aiming to have her transferred to Nebraska for the rehab facility in a few weeks which will mean her family will have to move so they can be with her and have justice’s daughter close to her. We are still hoping for the best recovery possible for her. Thank you to everyone who has donated so far. We appreciate any and all donations, thoughts and prayers that are received.
