Having grown up transgender in an unsupportive and toxic family environment and now struggling to make ends meet after finally breaking free, I spent the last few years fighting to find joy in being myself. Despite all the hardships and after all the victories, I am now in a place where I can pursue vaginoplasty, an enormous, life-saving leap in my transition journey that has felt like nothing more than a pipe dream for as long as I can remember.

While the actual cost of the procedure is covered by insurance, the living expenses I have to account for during the recovery process is daunting. Taking time away from work for even the low estimate of recovery time would prevent me from covering my living expenses, medication, groceries, and countless other bills.
