Hello my name is Joy Jamerson. I'm originally from Flint Michigan. I recently moved for the first time in 2023 to Arizona which later ended in Vegas where I am currently homeless with my 4 children. The homeless where we're sleeping in the car. I have been out of work since I found out I was pregnant in March of 2024. Baby is 7 months now and I have reached out to CPS and every shelter there is. Because this isn't a domestic situation, I have had no luck. I have reached out to my insurance company as well for a housing assessment. No luck. Not to mention, June 7th, I lost one of my oldest brothers to a "hit and run" and his funeral was June 14th, which also was my oldest daughter 15th birthday. I was unable to celebrate with her or make it to his funeral. I am hanging in there. I'm doing my best to stand strong for my babies. I am willing to work any shift doing anything!!! I just need a place to be stable long enough to work and stack up for suitable housing. Here in Vegas you have to prove your address is legit, etc. for benefits. Due to being homeless, I had to buy food everyday since receiving my benefits on the 8th. I now have no more stamps for food or water. We're dry on gas and the temperature here is in the 100s. So we're struggling with getting around too because we have to find free wifi.... Neither one of have phone service. I just have a government phone with limited access. God bless all those who are willing to help and able to. This is my first time seeking help here, so I'm not sure how anyone can reach me. Thank you. I put it all in God hands from here. Thank you all again. Many would love to know how the money will be spent, I would make sure we get a roof over our heads by getting back home where all my support is. I would have to get a van rental for 3 days and have gas and enough money for food and shelter along the ride. Once I get home my family will help me settle in with my babies.
