My name is Joslyn. I am 47 years old and have to have a valve replacement in my heart. What that entails is open-heart surgery on June 26th, 2025. I wasn't prepared for this surgery to be so rapidly urgent. This would mean leaving my 2 young children with family and bills that need to get paid while I'm away. My surgery is in Albuquerque, N.M., and I live in Clovis, N.M., so traveling home from Albuquerque would cost to get me home. Looking into after my surgery, I would have to be out of work for a month. I quit my job recently so that I would be resting at home before my surgery.
