Aid Jordan's Long Road to Recovery

On September 19th, Jordan was helping his parents clean out their shop when a tragic accident occurred. A spark ignited a 55-gallon drum that should have been empty and dry. Unfortunately, fumes inside caused the drum to explode, resulting in a fire. Jordan managed to escape the shop and frantically searched three floors of the house for a phone to call for help, as his cellphone was destroyed in the explosion.

He was rushed to UK Hospital but was quickly airlifted to UofL Hospital, the only facility in Kentucky with a specialized burn unit. Since arriving at the ICU, Jordan has undergone five surgeries for debridement. Yesterday, he began receiving skin grafts on his arms, with more surgeries scheduled for his abdomen, lower back, and legs, which have been the most severely impacted by the burns.

Jordan suffered burns over 50% of his body, with 30% being full-thickness (formerly known as 3rd-degree burns), and the remaining 20% a mix of partial and full-thickness burns. His legs, in particular, bear the most extensive damage. While his body is responding well to grafts and treatment, the pain is immense. Doctors estimate Jordan will remain in the burn unit for at least six more weeks before transitioning to two weeks of intensive rehabilitation focused on physical and occupational therapy. Once home, he will need 24-hour care, ongoing therapy, and several more surgeries in the coming years.

Despite the severity of his injuries, Jordan is showing remarkable strength and resilience, surpassing doctors' expectations. However, the road ahead is long, and the journey will be challenging. We are raising funds to support Jordan's medical expenses, rehabilitation, and the ongoing care he will need during this difficult time. Any contribution will help ease the financial burden on Jordan and his family as they navigate his recovery.
