Aid Jonny in Capturing Texas History

Hi, I’m John L. Partesius aka Jonny Goodday, historical cinematographer, and the guy who drags a camera into every forgotten corner of Texas so you can see the stories most people overlook.

My six year old M1 MacBook Pro has fought the good fight, but 8 GB of RAM and a 512 GB drive choke on 4K footage, RAW timelapses, and the color grades that make my architecture films pop. Renders crawl, crashes happen, and deadlines slide.

The upgrade I need is a 14-inch MacBook Pro with Apple’s M4 Max chip, 36 GB of unified memory, and a 2 TB SSD. It will slice export times in half, let me finish projects on location, and keep untold Texas stories rolling while the inspiration is hot instead of waiting overnight for renders.

The total cost after Texas sales tax and GoFundMe’s card fees is about $4,100. I’m asking for help because, right now, the films cost more to make than they earn. If you’ve ever been moved by a courthouse restoration story, a night shot of downtown Fort Worth, or one of my other films, please consider chipping in. Even five bucks keeps the pixels flowing.

I’ll post receipts, unboxing pics, and benchmark videos so you know exactly where the money went. Thank you for keeping Texas history alive, one frame at a time.

—Jonny
