Our son Johnny has been diagnosed with a genetic condition known as neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1), which is characterized by the growth of tumors on nerves throughout the body. This condition brings about numerous challenges, as there is currently no cure, and we find ourselves engaged in a lifelong journey of management and care.

Recently, we received the heartbreaking news that Johnny has developed cancerous tumors. This diagnosis significantly complicates his health situation and has compelled us to start chemotherapy treatments. The goal of these treatments is to target and eliminate cancer cells while also preventing the further growth of tumors that threaten his wellbeing.

Caring for Johnny during this difficult time requires us to take time off work. We are dedicating ourselves to home education so he can continue learning in a safe environment, all while fulfilling the energetic and creative needs of a lively child. We strive to provide a nurturing atmosphere, but the harsh reality is that chemotherapy can weaken his immune system by reducing the number of white blood cells produced by his bone marrow, making him vulnerable to infections.
