Aid John Raber in Overcoming Fire Devastation

My name is Lance Kane and im helping a dear friend and former mentor. John Raber is my former boss of 20 years at LoJack (photo from 2016). He was an incredible leader; his loyalty and positivity had a huge impact on my life. In 2018, we were both laid off in a corporate acquisition. We both had to reinvent our careers.
As of today, John has lost everything in the Palisades fire. Two days ago, he was at work and his coworker told him, "There's a fire in the Palisades." As he put it, "There are often small brush fires," so he wasn't too concerned. A couple of hours later, he decided to go home to see what was going on. As he drove toward his home, he noticed many cars going in the opposite direction. He arrived home, saw smoke a couple of blocks away, and walked a block to investigate. Within moments, he was running back to his house to grab what he could. He was able to grab a bag of clothes and some photos and videotapes from his daughter's childhood. He drove away, and his house burned to the ground.
John is not a wealthy man. He's worked hard, and his retirement was what he had invested in his home. Now, at 67, he's challenged with restarting his life. Insurance will hopefully help, but now he's looking for a rental, and local landlords are jacking prices higher, taking advantage of those in need. He went tonight to look at a place for rent, and there were 30 people in line in a bidding war for the home. He's positive but struggling to comprehend what's going on.
If you have $1 or $100 for one of the most loyal and honest people I've ever known, please send it. Thank you.
