My sister Joanna’s life changed forever when her home was destroyed in a devastating explosion on Monday December 2, 2024. She suffered severe burns and injuries requiring immediate hospitalization and is facing a long road to recovery. While we are grateful she survived, Joanna, including her family have lost everything - their home, belongings, and sense of security.

The fire was at home when a gas leak led to an explosion that destroyed the house. She was rushed to a local hospital’s Burn Unit where she is currently receiving critical care. The doctors expect her recovery to take months, including multiple surgeries and extensive rehabilitation.
