Hello everybody, my name is Jo!

I am 36 years old who was diagnosed at a young age with vascular Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. This genetically derived illness presents uniquely in each individual.

For me, it has caused me to be born with a severely deformed club right foot, which has been operated on over a dozen times since infancy. I do a good job of masking, but it causes severe pain daily. The more spooky aspect of this condition is the spontaneous vascular events such as hemorrhaging, bruises, and dissections.

Since 2023 I have had to resign from two jobs due to my medical problems. I have always struggled to maintain gainful employment, as well as academic success - leading to withdraw from school, as well as from the associate degree graphic arts program I was attending.

After losing my most recent job due to my disability, I have begun the process of applying for Disability Income for the 3rd time with an attorney.

The major hurdle I face right now is sustaining life for myself and my kitten, Bubbles, while we go through the disability application process with the attorney, with no stable income at the moment.

I am asking my community for support with my bills while I apply for Disability Income.

I'm a PMA punk (Positive Mental Attitude punk) and nothing breaks me; I just need a lil help right now, so I'm being proactive and self-advocating (which is EFFING HARD AF!)
