Aid Jim Sisco's Fight Against Cancer

Donation protected
Hi my name is James Sisco everybody calls me Jim, Ive been happily married for over 20 years to my wonderful wife Jodi and have 2 grown boys. One of which has already made me a grandpa. I work full time and live in southern Indiana. I was about to turn 50 so in August 2024 being proactive about my health, I decided a colonoscopy was on my todo list. The gastroenterologist performed a routine colonoscopy finding only 1 polyp. Which tuned out not to be a polyp at all, but a neuroendocrine tumor or NET. After meeting with an oncologist who scheduled my PET scans and MRI’s I was sent to see a colorectal surgeon and urologist who explained I have residual carcinoid tissue left behind from the removal of the “polyp” by the gastroenterologist. He seems to think we caught this early even though some other things were found as this quote explains it better than I, “Tiny right internal iliac lymph node with increased metabolic activity suspicious for metastatic disease. Lymph node measures 4 mm in short axis diameter 3. A much larger focus of increased metabolic activity is seen in prostate.” This was quoted from the findings in my PET scan on October 11th. I had a scheduled surgery on Wednesday Dec. 4th to remove the residual tissue left behind in my rectal wall. I went home Wednesday evening with no issues and thought it went well. Thursday morning Dec. 5th I wake up to a little discomfort in my belly thinking I just had surgery it is normal. By Thursday afternoon my chest and neck swelled in a matter of minutes due to a perforation in my rectal wall. I was rushed back for emergency surgery where I woke up in the ICU with my worst case scenario, a colostomy bag. Planning on going back to work on Tuesday I wasn’t gonna miss a beat. On Saturday Dec. 7th my Dr. comes in and says I’m off work for at least 2 months. I am starting this go fund me page to help my family through rough patch that we will be going through soon. I’m asking for only enough to cover our next 2 months bills. Any worries that could be lifted from my shoulders by your donations as I recover and continue to fight would be greatly appreciated. I pray that you all have a very special holiday season with your family and loved ones. Thank you! Much love
