Aid Jim McGuire's Journey to Recovery
Donation protected
Hello family and friends.
Jim McGuire, on Friday, 22 November, was taken to Unity Point Trinity Hospital by ambulance after he suffered a fall at his home. A day after arriving at the hospital, he started severe bleeding internally. The doctors had to use over 30 units of blood before they were able to stop the bleeding in surgery. Jim is in critical condition in ICU. There will be other surgical procedures to come to a permanent solution.
Jim will be in ICU in the hospital for at least two weeks, and rehabilitation and a bounce-back center will follow after leaving the hospital for a duration of 4-6 weeks.
We are asking for any help that you can provide Jim and his wife, Sue McGuire, as they go through this tough time.
Any financial contribution will be used towards current bills while Jim is unable to work, and medical bills that will follow after Jim is home and continuing to recover.
Any contribution is greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
Update on my stepfather Jim's condition. He has been taken off sedation and the great doctors are working on his recovery. He continues to fight a fever with multiple antibiotics and additional medication. Multiple x-rays and scans continue to keep an eye on infections and the progression of fluid drainage from his abdomen.
As of 29 Nov he remains in ICU. He has been in ICU for a week now and the doctors do not have a timeline of when he will be released to a normal room or to a rehabilitation center. The doctors and nurses are continuing to diagnose and treat symptoms. This will be a long recovery for him.
Thank you again for your contributions. We want to do what we can to relieve the financial burden on Jim and his wife Sue during this difficult time and the long recovery.
