Jim Curcio, our grandfather, lovingly known as Beba by his grandkids and family, has recently been diagnosed with small cell carcinoma, a fast-moving and aggressive form of cancer. This heart-wrenching news came after several difficult months of illness with no clear answers—until a tumor was found.

Beba has always been a pillar of strength in our family. A hard-working man with an unmatched dedication to those he loves, he has spent his life putting others first. Even at the age of 78, he has continued to work to help support himself and our grandma (Baci), up until recently as he became too sick to do so.

Whether it was providing for his kids, being the steady, loving presence his family could always count on, or taking care of Baci as she has been ill, Beba never hesitates to give his all.

His treatment journey will be long and challenging—not only physically and emotionally, but financially as well. As we all know, the costs of cancer care are overwhelming, and with Beba no longer able to work, the burden of medical bills and day-to-day living expenses will be more than our family can manage alone.
