Our parents, Jim and Janice’s home was devastated by a house fire late in the evening July 26th. While they and their 2 dogs were able to get out safely, they are searching for temporary housing and have only been able to save a little bit of clothing. They are currently staying with their daughter and son-in-law until handicap accessible housing is found that is suitable for them and their 2 collies. Insurance will cover some but there will be gaps and delays. Currently their home is uninhabitable. My father’s dentures, glasses and hearing aids were destroyed, they will need the money to front those costs. My mom is also partially disabled. My dad just had surgery July 22nd for an aortic aneurysm and is still recovering from that. He is still having trouble getting around.
