Aid Jessica's Healing and Home Restoration

Hello. My name is Barbara Andrade DuBransky. I am a nearly 30 year resident of LA County, currently living in Claremont. I am, like many of you, someone who has many dear friends who have lost or sustained damage to their homes in the recent LA fires. I'm heartbroken by their losses, which include not being able to return to their community physically for a still unknown period of time and knowing when they do that it will be a very different place than the one they evacuated from.

For those whose homes are still standing, there is still so much to contend with, including damage, environmental testing fees, and the physical toll of the stress. My dear friend Jessica Kaczmarek is among those facing these challenges.

I have known Jessica for over 15 years. She is a long-time public servant and philanthropist. She has dedicated her professional life to making other people's lives better, with a particular focus on economic equity, an area that benefits so much from having her smarts. She is already looking forward to opportunities to work with her neighbors to rebuild Altadena. But, before that can happen, she needs support to get back on her feet. She and her dog Rufus are both having environmental and stress-related health challenges in response to the fire.

This GoFundMe will help with medical costs, the insurance deductible, and the environmental testing fees. Any amount received above what is needed to pay these bills will be donated to the Altadena Community Relief Fund.

Jessica and I know there is more loss in Altadena/Pasadena and the Palisades than we can all begin to wrap our heads around and are grateful for supporting Jessica, a gem of the Altadena community.
