Help Support Jay LaFriniere’s Recovery

On August 5, 2025, our family’s world changed forever. My brother, Jay LaFriniere—a proud veteran who has dedicated his life to serving his country and helping others—was admitted to the Fargo Sanford Neurological ICU after suffering multiple strokes. It happened while he was at work for FedEx, experiencing dizziness and confusion. He knew something was wrong and called his own ambulance from the roadside after a delivery. What happened next was uncontrollable vomiting, vertigo, etc. He was rushed to Bemidji Hospital where they realized he was having a stroke and made the decision to send him to Fargo to the Neurological Unit. During the ambulance ride, he suffered a series of multiple more strokes before he arrived. Doctors figure anywhere from 8-10 total strokes in a few-hour window.

After six days in intensive care, on August 11, 2025, Jay was transferred to a rehab facility in Grand Forks, ND. He has fought hard to regain mobility in all his limbs, but he still faces significant challenges every single day. He struggles with balance issues, short-term memory loss, severe vision loss, and difficulty processing words and thoughts.

The road to recovery will be long and demanding, and while Jay works to rebuild his strength and independence, the financial strain is overwhelming. Medical bills and housing expenses are piling up, and he cannot manage them on his own right now.

Jay has always been there for others—whether in uniform, for his friends, or for strangers in need. Now it’s our turn to stand by him.

Your donation will go directly toward covering his medical costs, housing, and basic living needs, giving him the stability and peace of mind to focus entirely on his recovery. No contribution is too small, and even sharing his story can make a difference.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support during this difficult time.
