Our dear friend Jamie has recently suffered a spinal cord stroke — something extremely rare, and at this point, the cause is still unknown. This stroke has left her paralyzed from the neck down and has severely affected her breathing and swallowing due to complications with her diaphragm. Jamie has faced health challenges before, but this is an entirely new and devastating level.

Through all of this, her husband Jim has been by her side every single moment — advocating, caring, and doing everything he possibly can. He has shared his hopes and unwavering faith that God will guide her toward healing, one step at a time. As he put it, “her pain tolerance is something unheard of.” The strength they both continue to show is nothing short of incredible.

The road ahead is going to be undeniably difficult. Jamie will need ongoing, long-term care, home revisions, lifts, equipment, and all the support necessary to keep her as comfortable and cared for as possible.
