We’re reaching out to ask for your support for our beloved friend and family member, Jacob Roberts.

On July 21st, Jake was involved in a serious electric scooter accident while on his way to work that left him with multiple traumatic injuries, including a severe brain injury (diffuse axonal injury), fractured ribs, a facial fracture, and a life-threatening brain bleed that required emergency surgery.

Jake is currently being treated in Maryland, just outside DC, where he remains under close medical supervision. He spent time in the ICU and has now begun the long road to recovery, which includes physical, occupational, and speech therapy. While he is making steady progress, he still struggles with confusion, memory loss, and disorientation which is common but challenging effects of a traumatic brain injury.

Before the accident, Jake was an active, hard-working, and vibrant person. Now, due to the extent of his injuries, he is unable to work and will need ongoing care and rehabilitation in the weeks and months ahead.

We are looking to come together to raise funds to support Jake’s recovery journey. Donations will help cover:

• Medical bills not fully covered by insurance

• Rehabilitation and therapy costs

• Medications and ongoing neurological care

• Basic living expenses while he is out of work

Jake has always been the kind of person to lift up the people around him. Now, we’re asking for help lifting him up in return.
