On Feb 2nd Olivia was found behind the couch in her favorite hiding spot around midnight moaning and groaning in pain. Removing her from that area caused her to become very aggressive and groan louder, in all her 13 years Olivia has never been the cat to become aggressive against others. She is very loving and loves human attention. So this reaction was worrisome. The next morning we found that she had sat in the same spot that she was placed the night before. She never moved for almost 5 hours. After finally moving her to her cat bed and placing the food and water next to her, having no problem eating or drinking once the food was next to her. We also saw that she was having problems using the bathroom. That was when we decided to take her into the vet for an emergency appointment. The vet said that the cause of the pain is most likely the vertebral column (bony structure), spinal cord (Part of the nervous system), or the soft tissue structures surrounding the spine. In order to get a diagnostic the vet made an appointment for Feb 7 to determine what is causing the pain. This pain is also preventing Olivia from making a proper bowel movement. After all the testing the final cost will be roughly around $1200, and if they want to test for more the amount will raise. Although Olivia is more than worth that money, finances are too tight and we won't be able to afford the care she needs. Olivia has been in our lives for nearly 11 years and has been our pride and joy since then. Shes family, and has gained the love and attention of guests throughout the years. We thank everyone who is willing to help with the care and support our fur baby needs, and I'm sure shes is thankful too. Thank you so much for reading her story and understanding how much our little loaf of bread means to us.
