Aid in Healing and Housing Stability

Hi family and friends. Just wanted you to know how my life changed in the blink of an eye on December 19, 2024. I was walking to get my hair cut on a busy street in East Nashville, not even a block from my apartment. I was walking legally, in the crosswalk, in that I was given the white pedestrian go light. When I was about halfway through the intersection, a Dodge Ram truck turned right from the adjacent street and plowed into me, breaking both of my legs. My right leg needed extensive surgery and I will be off of my feet and unable to teach and support my little friends with autism in their home programs for about 4-6 months.

Folks are asking what they can do to help. I have a wonderful support group helping me recover once I get out of the hospital and am so very grateful to be alive and surrounded by loving friends and family. Not being able to work for such an extended period of time will be very hard for me to both cover medical expenses not covered by my insurance and to keep my apartment from going into eviction status. The young lady (24 years old) who hit me has only the minimum of insurance which is $25,000, allowable in the state of TN.

The good news is, as many of you know, I have a book about Family Court abuse I have wanted to write for many years. Being bedridden, I am committed to finally finishing and publishing the book, creating the podcast, and starting the foundation I have wanted to start, aimed at keeping children safe instead of being weaponized in divorce courts throughout our nation. If you can contribute to helping me keep my apartment during the months I will be unable to work, I would be so very appreciative.
