Update- It is with a heavy heart that I update the GoFundMe to let everyone know that Audrey will gain her wings. Her mom, dad, and boyfriend have made the decision to donate her organs to let her legacy and strength live on. Please, we still need help with arrangement costs, so any little bit helps. Two nights ago, Heather experienced every parent’s worst nightmare — she found her daughter, Audrey (18), in cardiac arrest. Audrey has battled mental health challenges for a long time, and on this night, those struggles became overwhelming.

Although emergency responders were able to restore her heartbeat, the lack of oxygen caused a severe and fatal brain injury. Since then, Audrey has remained unresponsive. The medical team continues to run tests, and while we are all holding on to hope for a miracle, the reality is heartbreaking: things are not looking good.

During this emotional and uncertain time, Heather and her family are facing incredibly difficult decisions. Depending on what the coming days bring, there may be significant costs related to Audrey’s ongoing medical care or, if the unthinkable happens, expenses surrounding end-of-life planning.
