My brother Zack passed away this week in a violent, unexpected way. My brother and his wife, live far away from the rest of us in Sandpoint, Idaho. All the rest of Zack’s family is from the Kansas City area. Seven of us flew to Idaho immediately. My son, Haven, 23, has been a rock for our family during this past week. He has been fired from his current employer because of not filling his shifts due to leaving town to be with our family. The stress of losing his job and keeping rent paid is an added sad, situation. Haven is a hard, capable worker…..and did not deserve this treatment. We are all sideswiped by sadness and grief these days.
