Aid a Single Mom's Journey to Rebuild After Loss
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Haley, and I am a single mom to a beautiful daughter. This has been one of the hardest years of my life. I’ve survived two job layoffs back-to-back, and right now I am facing the very real possibility of not being able to cover rent and bills. Asking for help is not easy for me, but I would rather humble myself than let my child struggle.
My adult life has been a battle for safety and stability. I entered college with big dreams, but at the same time, I was trapped in an abusive relationship that was physically and financially destructive. Leaving that situation meant starting over many times, living in fear, and even having my identity stolen as another way to control me. Despite all this, I graduated, built a career, and kept fighting for stability for myself and my daughter. But the constant challenges: legal fees for protection, moving to stay safe, and rebuilding every time has drained me financially and emotionally.
This year, I finally felt like I was finding my footing, but then two sudden layoffs pushed me back to the edge. On LinkedIn, it may look like I always have work. The reality is that when you live in the United States, the second your paycheck stops, you are only one or two paychecks away from losing everything. That is my reality. I don’t have a car. I don’t have savings to fall back on. Every resource I’ve tried: government benefits, charities, churches has been a dead end. I’ve depleted everything I can just to stay afloat.
Right now, I need help to keep a roof over our heads, pay bills, and make sure my daughter has food, clothes, and stability until I am able to land another job. Every dollar will go toward rent, utilities, groceries, and the essentials she needs as she grows.
My daughter is my everything. She deserves to feel safe, loved, and secure. She shouldn’t have to feel the weight of my struggles. That’s why I am asking for help now.
If you can donate, no matter how small, it will make a real difference. If you cannot donate, sharing this fundraiser would mean the world. And if you are in a position to connect me with a job interview or opportunity, that could change our lives.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story, for supporting us, and for giving us a chance to keep moving toward stability.
