We are reaching out to share a heartfelt request for support for our dear colleague and friend, Grace Durden. Grace has been a dedicated teacher at Washington Elementary since 2003, and over the years, she has touched countless lives with her passion, commitment, and kindness. Grace's husband, John, has recently been diagnosed with a rare form of cancer in his chest and requires thymectomy surgery.
As they navigate this difficult journey, they are facing not only emotional and physical challenges but also significant financial strain.
Grace is a compassionate educator who has made a lasting impact on her students, fostering a positive environment for learning and growth. Now, it’s our turn to rally around her and offer the support she needs during this trying time.
John worked for the Boy Scouts of America for twenty-nine years dedicating his life to helping inner city youth across the Bay Area, but was laid off recently due to budget. He lost his medical insurance and became ill months ago which caused him to be hospitalized on and off for over a year.
The costs of medical treatments, hospital visits, and other unexpected expenses are quickly adding up, and Grace is doing her best to balance supporting her family, caring for her husband, and continuing her work as a teacher. This is where we can help.
Our goal is to ease the financial burden on Grace and her family, so she can focus on what matters most—being there for her husband during his treatment and recovery. Any donation, no matter the amount, will make a difference and provide relief during this difficult time.
If you're unable to donate, please consider sharing this campaign with your network. The more people we reach, the more support we can provide. Together, we can make sure that Grace knows she is not alone in this fight.
Thank you for your generosity, support, and kindness.
With gratitude,
