Let's make life and recovery manageable for Glenn Bellous and Yvonne Viner!

Many of you know Glenn is a HUGE giver and always wants to make sure people are ok by helping them out.

He needs our help now for the first time, so let's have his back!!

In March of this year, Glenn was diagnosed with Stage 3 melanoma. He then underwent two rounds of immunotherapy treatment. Thankfully, the two rounds were successful in treating the cancer! Unfortunately, the second round caused unexpected and debilitating side effects which, MONTHS after finishing treatment, have not yet cleared as hoped.

In addition to impacting Glenn's thyroid function and leaving him with debilitating fatigue, making the simplest things very challenging, the therapy has hugely impacted his ability to get nourishment. He has no appetite, everything tastes and smells nauseating, and for months it has been difficult for Glenn to get anything in and keep it in. Imagine beating cancer only to have treatment make it a constant battle just to eat at all.

On November 7th, Yvonne came home from work to find our dear Glenn on the floor, where he'd been for hours, semi-conscious and struggling to breathe. 911 got him to the ER and shortly thereafter his vitals crashed... it was severe sepsis. He was minutes to hours from organ failure and was in the ICU for 3 days and a regular room for a week more. To top it off, he has a bad wound from an IV that blew out.

So it's been cancer, immunotherapy, inability to eat, 50-pound weight loss, surgery in September to remove any remaining cancer and nearby lymph nodes, pneumonia, and then septic shock. It's been a very tough 9 months.

Yvonne has been the sole breadwinner throughout Glenn's treatment. She's been doing all she can to support him and keep them both insured. Now it looks like she may need to be his full-time caregiver until, fingers crossed, he's able to make at least a partial recovery. He will likely not be able to go back to painting and handiwork.

This means Yvonne would be out of work and would need to pay for private insurance while she supports and cares for Glenn 'round the clock.

They will need help covering medical costs, rent, health insurance, and living costs. Until now, Yvonne has JUST been able to cover expenses with her income and insurance, but she's still awaiting the latest ambulance and ICU bills. Caregiving full-time will be absolutely impossible without our help.

With the most optimistic outlook, Glenn will need Yvonne's full-time support for at least 3-5 months. Our hope is that he makes significant progress in that time. Please keep positive thoughts for them!

Given the cost of rent, insurance, life, medical and at-home care, any specific liquid form of nutrition that Glenn is able to keep down, and ongoing monitoring of side effects that continue to come out of left field, we estimate they'll need $50,000 or more for now to cover the 3-5 months and any surprises that may come ... including perhaps a longer recovery.

If Glen’s care ends up being long-term (pray it doesn't), we may need to ask for more support. Let's not let them go into an economic hole. Let's get Glenn healthy and let's make sure Yvonne can take good care of him, with our support. Glen has great doctors. He just needs more time.
