Ginger is a 2.5-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. She was just diagnosed with Chiari-like malformation & degenerative lumbosacral stenosis (DLSS) after showing signs of being in extreme pain. We found out that her brain is too big for her skull, which causes compression of the brain, excess fluid build-up, and chronic pain. She also has the degenerative condition in her hips/leg region. These conditions are progressive and need a lifetime of treatment.
Her vet bills in 3 days cost over $5,600 just for diagnosis (full body MRI) & medicine to last her one month. Plus, she had to go to another vet & also an emergency vet for an ICU stay after developing aspiration pneumonia, which was a complication of being put under anesthesia for the MRI. This was over $1,000 extra.
She will need medicine every day for the rest of her life and likely need treatment, such as acupuncture, laser therapy, physical therapy, epidural steroids, and possible surgery. Please help us so we can give Ginger the best life possible!
