Hello everyone, my name is Lillian Getchel and I very recently became a mother to twins. Unfortunately for my partner and me, I had to give birth prematurely at 34 weeks due to preeclampsia. Our babies are going to be staying at the NICU for an unknown amount of time, and I had to cut my time working shorter than I expected to be admitted into the hospital. Jonah also took time off work to take care of us.

With that being said, I’m unsure of how soon my maternity leave is going to kick in because of everything going so fast. I just know I’m freaking out over paying for odds and ends as well as for the bills that like to sneak up on us.

Ideally, we would like to be with our twins as often as possible without the stress weighing on our shoulders. We’re from Fond du Lac and they’re keeping our newborn preemies in Madison. We want nothing more than for them to be home with us, but we also don’t like the idea of being away. It seems like no matter what we do, we’re strung thin.
