Aid Gena's Family After Tragic Accident

Let me help y’all understand who I am. My name is Cherri Redd and I have been a friend of the Hatfield family since I moved to Arizona.They helped me through my difficult times and now I’m helping them through this unimaginable tragedy.

Laura Mowrer is Gena’s sister and Jesse’s Aunt. She has set up an account at Wells Fargo for Gena’s family and the donations here will be used for the expenses incurred from this tragedy. We know the pain will still be there, but this will ease some of the pressure they must be feeling.

Gena gave this update on the funeral and burial;

The funeral is at Sunrise Funeral home in Prescott Valley. I think it would be okay for people to come and go between the hours of 10 and 12:30 nobody has to say the whole time and I wouldn't expect anybody to. And then the burial is at Heritage Memorial Park cemetery off of Fain road headed towards Dewey

Help Support Gena and Her Family After the Tragic Loss of Jesse

We are heartbroken to share that our dear friend Gena recently experienced an unimaginable loss—her beloved grandson, Jesse, passed away in a tragic gun accident. Jesse at only 13 years of age was a bright light in Gena’s life. She saw him daily as he lived with her. He was a typical gamer teenager but also shared her deep love for horses, especially his cherished paint horse, Skeeter.

Gena has always been there for others, as a devoted teacher to her students, equestrian, and trail rider. She is a dedicated member of the Back Country Horsemen of Central Arizona. Her generosity, compassion, and unwavering support for the horse community has touched so many lives. Gena’s devotion as a teacher in the high school she works at was another way she gave back to the community. She was also working to help Jesse, being his home schoolteacher, she would help him with his schoolwork too. She was so supportive of so many.

Now, it’s our turn to be there for her.

As Gena and her family navigate this devastating time, they are also facing the burden of funeral expenses, which are estimated to exceed $15,000. We are coming together to ease some of that financial stress so they can focus on healing.
