Aid Garth's Journey to Recovery
Donation protected
Bailey Barr here asking my friends, family, and community for their help in funding obstruction surgery for my youngest dog, Garth.
I've had Garth since he was born at my house on Jan 27th, 2024, from a very pregnant mama dog from Eastern Washington. I adopted Garth and his mom from OPHS after foster failing. This sweet, gentle soul has brought nothing but love and silliness to our house. Our kids adore him; he's a true family dog.
X-rays today showed nothing but some pebble-like anomalies in part of his digestive tract. He got fluids and Cerenia for nausea, and if he continues to vomit after 12 hours, the doctor said he must have exploratory surgery.
He's attached to us, and it hurts my heart to think of having to give him up due to lack of funds for this emergency.
I've spent over $700 today to get the prognosis and an overnight treatment plan, but if he does not improve by morning, I'll need to schedule his surgery. The vet office doesn't take payments after the procedure; I have to pay in full before Garth can come home to me. I'm going to reapply for CareCredit and potentially use our only emergency card for another $700 towards the cost. But anything after that, I'll need to find help with. I'm willing to offer my pet sitting and walking services for free for those who donate.
I appreciate sharing and donating. This is one of my worst fears, and I can't believe it's happening. I love my dogs like my family, we have a special bond that I can't imagine breaking.
